Tryon Village Coming Together

The rerouting of Cary’s Walnut and Holly Springs roads has created another major intersection (for the creation of another brick strip mall and full compliment of stand-alone pharmacies). The intersection’s NW corner features a new shopping center named Tryon Village. The lineup so far is a pretty nice one for a shopping center of its size:

  • Yoho Asian Bistro
  • Breugger’s Bagel Bakery
  • Harris Teeter
  • Walgreen
  • Starbucks
  • Impressions Hair Salon
  • Rita’s Ice Cream
  • Pinky Toes (girls clothing)
  • Jill’s Beach
  • Jimmy John’s
  • Suncom Wireless
  • It Figures
  • Pacific Nails
  • Ruckus Pizza
  • Snap Fitness 24/7

About 2/3 of the center is leased, and it will interesting to see what Harris Teeter, Yoho, and Breugger’s do for the area. (map it)

I love this area - it’s so close to my parents’ suburban home and it’s nice to see some of those businesses make it out that way! I’d LOVE to see some local-owned independent shops open up there in addition to the childrens’ party parlor place (the name escapes me at the moment)!

Just got back from Yo Ho Asian Bistro, the service was the worst I’ve ever had. Someone from the kitchen finally brought our food. I would have left sooner but I had already eaten soup and my date had a salad. Two seperate tables in our section got up and left in frustration while we waited. Two tables that came in after us got served way before us and there were servers just running around asking tables at random if they had been waited on yet. They were NOT ready to open. The Sushi chef was waiting on a table in our section when we left. The whole time we were there the TWO hostesses just hung out. There was no kind of seating chart or no way to know who had been there or how long. They didn’t ask us how our meal was, no thank you, no come again, I guess they knew it was all pointless. Much like thinking a restaurant already geographically challenged could survive with garbarge service. We won’t be back and don’t waste your time.

I’m interested to know if anyone has tried Impressions Hair Salon yet. I can’t find a website or any information about this business on the web. The only website I can find is for a location at Waverly Place, not sure if this is affiliated with the Impressions at Tryon Village or not.

This shopping center is so ludicrously difficult to enter and exit I don’t care WHAT opens within it, it can sit there and rot.

Triangle area builders need to visit other cities to learn how build a shopping center, because 5 year olds are laying them out here.
