Cary’s Mamma Mia Closed
Cary’s location of Mamma Mia has closed. The Apex location will remain open, however. This is one of many, many restaurants to fail in this location at Cary Pkwy and High House. The 1991 has already housed 3 restaurants: Mamma Mia, Chuck ‘em, and Jaspers. I’m always intrigued by seemingly good locations that have much turnover.

Why is it that every restraunteur feels that they are going to break the “bad location” curse with their new vision of the right restaurant in what was previously the wrong place?
My favorite recent example was the Fox and Hound in Cary. What a horrible idea.
Chuck’ems was a great restaurant but it never really felt right as a “sports bar.” Great TVs though.

Same deal with the location at the corner of Tryon and Cary Parkway. Good location, nice anchor grocery store, but none of the detached restaurants (or the one under the copper “bell” top) can last. I blame it on the pain of getting OUT of the shopping center if you’re not heading back into Cary on your way out.
