WPTF Morning Slot Open

Apparently WPTF is seeking a morning radio show personality. According to the Curtis Media Website:

We’re NewsTalk 680 WPTF, and we’re seeking our next great morning host. If you love local radio, prepare like crazy, immerse yourself in the community and are a selfless team player, this could be your last job. Morning zoos and in-your-face instigators need not apply; this a fast-paced, news-intensive, politically-neutral show with a contributing cast of six.

Unfortunately Jack Boston was diagnosed with a leukemia recurrence right after he took the job a year and a half ago. I can only assume that Boston and/or Curtis decided that it wouldn’t work out. Hang in there, Jack!!!

I was under the impression that after Jack Boston had a successful treatment - success is always relative when we speak of cancer - leukemia returned a few months ago. Quite frankly, I do not know how anyone could handle a talk show when he is trying to recover from leukemia. Anyway, I wish the best to Jack Boston, he is a nice guy, IMHO.

I wish the best for Jack Boston. For the morning radio slot, I think they would do best to do a show that good for the community and not a show that divides one side vs the other. I think 680 would do best to drive that mantra through all their time slots. They spend too much time dividing and rode that “one side vs the other” for a long time while loosing much of their target market who was the long term and nothing else listener to 680. Of course, this is JMHO.

I also wish Jack Boston the best in his treatment. WPTF’s morning show may be fast paced and news intensive, but politically neutral it’s not. The same applies to the biased afternoon show as well. I wish the station would return to it’s politically neutral status of days gone by, but there’s no chance of that….just wishful thinking.
