Mini Page Founder Steps Down
It all started back in 1969 when Betty Debnam began publishing “The Mini Page” for Raleigh’s News & Observer. Its popularity grew so much that in 1976, Universal Press Syndicate began the page’s distribution. Eventually over 500 newspapers carried “The Mini Page” and its many explanations of current events and science, puzzles, and games for children.
Last month, Debnam stepped down from her editor post, and will focus more time on writing children’s books, painting, and developing the Debnam-Hunt Literacy Resource Center at ECU.
