New USS North Carolina Commissioned Today
The Navy commissioned its newest member of the fleet this morning, the USS North Carolina. The fast-attack nuclear submarine will join the Navy’s Pacific fleet. The previous USS North Carolina, a battleship, sits in Wilmington as a permanent memorial for the state’s World War II veterans.

Cool to hear there’s a North Carolina submarine. I actually work on computer-based training products specifically for the Virginia Class submarines, but I don’t really follow when and where they’re being commissioned.
