"The only radio station worth listening ... and 99.9 The Fan."

Count me as one who considers "The Fan" unlistenable.

I heard that the "old" version of The River (the one that played good music) was still available on HD radio... that true?

^ PS - Let me clarify: I could listen to the DJs all day with no problem, but the repeats and the commercials and an absolute turn-off!

WQDR and Foxy are not pop... and as much as I do love QDR and the friendly (on and off-air) personalities... I'd go crazy if I listened to them all day! I like the variety on 106.1 (and less commercials and talk) and my XM trumps anything local hands down.

I have always been suprised by how terrible the Raleigh radio stations really are. Whenever I travel by car to other metropolitan areas, I can be guaranteed to hear popular music that won't be played on the Raleigh market for at least 6 months after it charts. Not that I particularly care for pop, but what gives?

The only radio station worth listening to is 88.1 WKNC for music, 91.5 NPR (so long as it is the one week per quarter when they aren't fundraising), and 99.9 The Fan.
