Chuck Berry, Soul Asylum Added to Raleigh Wide Open
One of music’s all-time legends, Chuck Berry, has been added to the Raleigh Wide Open celebration, according to David Menconi. Berry, 81, stands as one of my personal favorite guitar players, as he helped to bring the 12-bar blues to America’s living rooms in the 50’s. Can’t wait!!
Soul Asylum, one of alternative’s bigger bands in the 1990’s, will also be on board for the festival. While David Pirner is no Chuck Berry, the band still put some good songs out there, especially before they got famous.

Berry is definitely a legend, but his best work came after that Michael J. Fox cover of “Johnny B. Good.”
