Yancy’s Officially Closes Doors
It’s official. Yancy’s Downtown has closed. Since filing for bankruptcy protection and realigning ownership in February, the restaurant has been operated as a rescue effort by Vango Foods. In yesterday’s mail, however, Vango received a copy of a court order terminating the restaurant’s lease. There will be a hearing on July 30, but most likely the outcome of that hearing will allow the landlord to move on with the space. Most likely a different restaurant will open soon after the new convention center’s opening.

Dana, this is turning into the Boy Who Cried Wolf…
Any word on a new location or a Hideaway BBQ update?

If you throw a drowning man a concrete life preserver, was he already dead?
Haven’t heard anything about Hideaway at this point.

glad it’s gone – living upstairs, it was a neat thought at first to have the place below, but it became less of an appeal as time wore on. it definitely had a sparse and sometimes shady crowd. anybody out there have suggestions on a replacement???
