Smashing Pumpkins Coming to Memorial Auditorium

smashingpumpkins David Menconi at the N&O just posted that the Smashing Pumpkins will finally be returning to Raleigh on August 17. Tickets for the Memorial Auditorium show go on sale Saturday at 10 through Ticketmaster.

    I believe this is the first time they’ve played here since the ‘94 Lollapalooza tour!

    They actually had a planned concert in Carrboro.. in ‘99 or 2000 I believe. Turns out a few band members got sick the night of and Billy Corgan did a solo gig at the Cats Cradle.

    I remember camping out on Franklin St in front of Schoolkids to get tickets.
