Aladdin’s Eatery Coming to Sutton Square

The space formerly occupied by Tasca Brava in North Raleigh’s Sutton Square will soon be an Aladdin’s Eatery (Warning: Music). I spoke with the owner briefly at the site and he reported the restaurant to be a middle eastern based, sit-down restaurant. The website, however, shows that Aladdin’s is actually a 26-store chain based out of Ohio.

The site’s menu is incomplete, but confirms that there will be rolled pita, salad pockets, pita “pitzas”, and other items. It appears that it will be a casual style restaurants. Numerous reviews online (1, 2, 3, 4) are positive, so it looks like North Raleigh will have a nice addition. I wonder how the Taza Grill folks are taking this…

I have eaten at Aladdin’s Eatery while on business in the Cleveland area. The food is so outstanding, that I drove an hour out of my way to eat at the Burke, VA, location during a trip to New Jersey. It doesn’t feel like you’re eating at a chain restaurant when you eat at Aladdin’s. I cannot wait to visit the Raleigh location. It will be well worth the drive from Hillsborough, and I plan to make that drive often.

Aladdin’s Eatery is the best Lebanese-Mediterranean restaurant ever. I got introduced to it the first time in Lakewood Ohio when i was visiting some relatives there. i can say that my whole experience was amazing from the moment i was greeted while walking through the door till the moment i had my first bite of my chicken rolled pita. it was called shishtawook rolled, it had garlic, tomato, lettuce and some sort of pickles. P.s: their garlic sauce is to die for. my side salad was a perfect companion to my meal as well as a freshly squeezed carrot juice drink.Service was very pleasant. over all i had a wonderful experience. Aladdin’s Eatery is in a league of it’s own, it is very unique.
I am very excited to go to their new location next to my house in Raleigh.
    Thank you aladdin’s eatery.

Apparently, Taza’s owner talked to the proprietors of Aladdin’s before they moved in about how it was a bad idea: having two similar restaurants in the same shopping center is only going to hurt both of them. The patrons of Taza are pretty loyal because of the overly friendly owner and well priced food so Aladdin has their work cut out for them. However, it is a good thing Taza opened up another location on Durant during Sutton Squares struggling days. Well, they both will at least last longer than SoupMan… horrific management.
