I'm sad to see it go but I wondered how it stayed open so long in that location. There were basically 2 service road entrances and those were difficult to find. There is really no clear signange on how to get there, I guess they were hoping that all the patrons that went there had GPS. The "chain link" fence entrance had a GIGANTIC natural speed bump that I don't think was altogether unintentional but you ran the risk of teetering on that thing if your car had less than average clearance. Ironically it's fixed now. The other entrance gave you a great view of the dumpster and staff smoking area - yummy! It just was not planned well and with some ingenuity (or is it common sense) it could have worked as a hidden gem - but alas I think it took the hidden part of that phrase a bit too literally.

Why would you expect to get a discount on your bill becasue of a broken chair and ice in your water? Ask for a working chair. The ice well, I can't help you there, hwat's wrong with ice in a glass of water?

Seems a little over the top IMO,

I'm sad to see this place go. ;(

I'm not surprised. Last time I went there, my boyfriend's chair was broken and there was a HUGE hunk of ice in his water. They did not even offer us a discount on the bill.

I think one of the issues it was hidden back up there and took a little bit of effort to get there. I also think that for business meals, downtown and North Hills have taken that spot. But with highwoods there, I could see that it would a decent business lunch. But business lucnhes are few and far between. I worked in Highwoods years ago and I think I went their once.

I went to Mountain Jacks once with my parents 17ish years ago and remembering it being excellent.

On my own, I went there once as Mountain Jacks and once as Carver's Creek. Wasn't impressed either time. I'm really surprised that they lasted as long as they did.

I actually enjoyed this place -- years ago. It was just too far out for a "lunch" place from RTP and the one time I took hubby to it, he wasn't impressed. I am surprised they lasted as long as they did, as it is not an easy place to get to.
