Gianni & Gaitano’s TTC Location Closes, No-Go for Glenwood

The News & Observer reported today that the Triangle Town Center location of Gianni & Gaitano’s closed early this week. The restaurant was padlocked by the sheriff’s department due to a lawsuit by the mall claiming $55K in back rent. The article also reports that the Gianni & Gaitano’s restaurant planned for 222 Glenwood is off, but the family’s remaining restaurants in the area are doing well financially.

Can anything survive there? How Ted’s Montana is still in business is beyond me… the place is a ghost town.

We were wondering how long that place would be there. We tried it twice, and the food was really bland. It was overpriced for the quality of the meals we had, and the service was terrible.

I would love to see a good italian place show up around Triangle Town Center.

I’ve heard Bates Battaglia and his dad wanted to open a good Italian restaurant on Glenwood South. Someone should talk to them.

I cannot see how a good Italian restaurant cannot survive in Glenwood South. I wasn’t happy for Gianni & Gaitano’s going at 222 Glenwood because I do not care about their food as much. I would much rather see a chain like Macaroni Grill, or Magianno’s coming to Glenwood South, but I am sure lots of people favor 518 West for Italian food. Hopefully, something decent will end up at the ground level of 222 Glenwood.
