He had a brain tumor a few years ago which he's fought and survived. The fight affected his voice and the meds' side effects include big weight gain. I only heard about 6 songs and he sounded fine. Not great, not bad, but it was a really fun time, nevertheless. I agree about the fireworks being low. Last year that way my complaint, too. This year we watched from the front of the Sheraton and it was not so much of an issue. I will say that this year's fireworks were MUCH better, but that's mainly because they combined Fri and Sat fireworks into one show. They were set off way too low to the horizon and could barely be seen even from the Davie/Fayetteville viewpoint I was at.
