Yes, You Can ID That Song

Cnet’s Buzz Out Loud podcast this week featured yes.com. The site allows users to see a list of the most recent songs played on a radio station, the most frequently played songs, and a chat space to discuss the radio station. I’m not sure if this validates my fears or my hopes for radio. Here are some of the area stations on yes.com, listed in Arbitron (25-54) order:

What I neat service! I don’t know how it’s legal, but it makes me feel like I’m in the very same room with the computer that created these playlists!

  • bunson mcburnerson

iphoners should just download Shazam! its free and you just hold your phone up to speakers and it IDs the song…then you can preview it and buy it in itunes. i use it all the time.

I hope it works better than Midomi. I sang “Electric Avenue” into it and it said I was singing “Bubbly” (Colbie Callet).

(So, I’m not sure which is more embarrassing; that I can’t sing EA well enough to be recognized or that I chose EA to sing!)

it does! i deleted midomi. it was never right! it would give me a list of songs and none of them were the song. shazam only gives you one and it’s the right one!
