Broughton Keeps Magnet Status, Daniels Loses

The Wake County School board’s final ruling came today: Broughton will keep its magnet status, and Daniels will, in fact, lose its status. Discuss amongst yourselves.

    An answer to my own question, from the N&O:

    “The City Council delayed a decision today on allowing a 126-space parking lot on Broughton’s Peace Street lawn, deciding to give the question more discussion.

    The council’s Comprehensive Planning Committee will take up parking at Broughton at its Wednesday meeting next week. During today’s meeting, City Manager Russell Allen said some spots could be created on Cameron Street and Bellwood Drive, about 60 in all.

    About 40 people in the audience, many of them dressed in purple, stood in support of the 126-space lot. About a half-dozen others stood to preserve the lawn.
