Had a blast at the event tonight. It was like a stand-up routine for foodies. He talked for about an hour, recounting details from his Kitchen Confidential days and behind the scenes of No Reservations, then answered audience questions for about 45 minutes. He really is a gifted storyteller. Money well spent, for sure. Oh, and the DPAC is outstanding… definitely prefer it over Raleigh’s Performing Arts Center if I’m seeing a small show or hearing someone speak.

Bourdain is old school NYC. I may actually go to this as his show is one of the few things I watch on TV.

I’ll gladly pay to see him talk. He is brilliant with words, both written and spoken. Plus, I think I might be a distant cousin of his: tall, lazy, gluttonous, pensive, sarcastic… hell, we might be brothers.

I’m suspecting alternative motives for Dana’s endorsement of Bourdain: coffee and cigarette teeth staining epidemic. $$$

Did you pay for the books? Did you pay for the TV shows? Are performing arts centers, airplanes, hotels, and ground transportation free?

I enjoy his books and TV shows. Why would someone pay to attend this?
