Suiter Signs Off
Just a reminder: WRAL’s sports anchor for more than 30 year, Tom Suiter, will be doing his final 6:00 newscast tonight. Suiter will continue to be in the newsroom and will continue some on-air duties, such as hosting Football Friday. Oxford-native Jeff Gravley will take the reins as WRAL’s primary sports anchor.

So jamburger resigns and knumbnutz II takes over. Still, hockey news on WRAL does not improve. I still will get the score of the South Johnston/Angier girls Basketball game before I get news on the Canes.
Why I switched over to NBC17 and even WTVD11.

Somewhere at my parent’s house is an old t-shirt of mine with Tom Suiter’s autograph across the back. He visited my elementary school in Hope Mills when I was in the 3rd grade (~1985). He was the first “big star” I’d ever met and I was so proud that I had gotten him to sign my yellow Cub Scout Day Camp t-shirt (although my mom wasn’t thrilled that I had him sign my shirt). I’ve been watching him for over 20 years and the local sportscast will never feel the same to me now that he’s retired.
