Obviously they are not. Duke and Carolina are 8 miles apart, NC State is just 20 miles away and with the addition of Wake Forest being 2 hours away this makes Tobacco Road very special. The hype is certainly there, but sometimes I don't think other places get the magnitude of the rivalry or tobacco road in general, and the longevity of how competitive both teams are, year in and year out. Comparison: Ohio State and Michigan football eight miles from each other, with LSU right down the road, and Purdue 2 hours away. Indiana and Kentucky basketball in the same place, with Louisville 30 min. away and Xavier 2 hours away. UCONN, Syracuse and Georgetown... Should be good. The hype is certainly there, but sometimes I don’t think other places get the magnitude of the rivalry or tobacco road in general, and the longevity of how competitive both teams are, year in and year out.
