Enoteca Vin and Carolina Wine Close
Last week Varmintbites posted that Carolina Wine Company had suddenly closed its doors. Today NewRaleigh posted that Vin has closed. CWC owner Chrish Peel is a co-owner for Vin, and is apparently having a hard go of it lately. Too bad because these were two excellent resources for the area.

Unfortunately, I can understand why Enoteca Vin is closing.
I really tried to like this restaurant because I do love wine. They had that down, but I never found the food to be good at all, unless I had A LOT of wine first. Secondly, the staff were always “too cool for school.” The food not being good I could handle, but the crappy staff I couldn’t.

Vin was a great place. Too much turnover downtown. Greenshields, King’s, Vin, etc., not enough stability. Need more HQ’s downtown, condo towers, retail and entertainment. We will be long gone before downtown is ANYTHING. Raleigh SPEED up the process (do not want to hear about the economy, it’s been like this for 30 years)

I am hearing about many people who have been defrauded by CWC and the owner Robert Christian Peel. If there are others out there who have paid for wine they never received please contact me (dgscruff@yahoo.com) so that we may plan a legal strategy. Thanks Dan
