NBC Gives Eastern Finals “The Heisman”

fnbc The Boston Strangler might be more popular than Scott Walker, who put away the Bruins with his series-winning, sudden death goal in the waning minutes of overtime. As the team left the Boston area, the television schedule was being released, and it is an enormous slap in the face of the Carolina Hurricanes. Even though the Canes’ upcoming opponent is led by “the Face of the NHL, Sidney Crosby”, NBC has opted to show none, that’s right, NONE of the games in the series. Instead Versus will carry each of the games against Pittsburgh.

  • Game 1 – Monday, May 18 at Pittsburgh
  • Game 2 – Thursday, May 21 at Pittsburgh
  • Game 3 – Saturday, May 23 at Carolina
  • Game 4 – Tuesday, May 26 at Carolina
  • *Game 5 – Friday, May 29 at Pittsburgh
  • *Game 6 – Sunday, May 31 at Carolina
  • *Game 7 – Tuesday, June 2 at Pittsburgh

* as necessary. All games are at 7:30 pm, and are carried on Versus (TWC channel 271, 65)

    They are only picking up 2 games in the Western Finals. Crazy…I am guessing they just don’t want much to do with hockey until the Cup Finals!

    Outside of the markets in which the teams are playing there just isn’t the viewership you get with basketball I guess. Its crazy because anyone that watches playoff hockey knows how great it is to watch. It turned me on to this sport for sure!

    I don’t like Doc whats-his-face anyway. His voice is annoying, and he is old and washed up. Bring in John Forseland. he could teach them a thing or two.

    I don’t think Doc is washed up. I think he is one of the best. Word on the street is NBC is ending its relationship with the NHL very soon. Only rumor so far. Right now, they pay the NHL nothing but do a great job. I like FSN-Carolinas with John adn Tripp but they are done for the season. I just assume it be on NBC ofr the national exposure.

    That said, when will the 10 largest state be seen as well, the 10 largest state ??
