Busy Week Ahead in Raleigh

As Labor Day Weekend approaches, those who are staying in Raleigh realize that there are plenty of things to do. On Wednesday Jamie Foxx is at the DPAC, while Greg Morton begins his weekend run at Charlie Goodnights on Thursday.

On Thursday night N.C. State hosts South Carolina to kick off the college football season in a nationally televised game. ESPN will carry the game and show it in HD.

Friday evening the temperatures will be moderate for another First Friday Walk. Those seeking some Classic Rock can see Heart in Cary, with local “Heartbreakers” Nantucket opening. Sports nuts wanting to stay indoors can go to the UNC Pro Alumni game at the Dean Dome.

On Saturday evening UNC begins its football season with the Citadel, while a later on the Carolina Chocolate Drops will be at the Cat’s Cradle. On this side of the Triangle the Steep Canyon Rangers will be playing the Pour House.

One final note: the Little Anthony & The Imperials show at the DPAC has been postponed to October 18. Thelma Houston opens.

Duke will be playing the Defending National Champions Richmond at 7 in Durham. Not sure why Duke sports are never mentioned on this site, but I’ll do my best to keep you reader’s updated throughout the season. Tixs are going fast, should be a wonderful night in the Triangle’s most beutiful and historic football stadium.
