U2 Tickets Available Next Week
As previously reported, U2 is returning to the Triangle for the first time in 26 years. On October 3, the band’s 360 tour will come to Raleigh’s Carter-Finley Stadium.
Tickets for the general public will go on sale Friday, April 17. Presale tickets , however, will be available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week (4/14-4/16). (Every show on the tour has sold out quickly, so presale is the way to go here.)
Bad Company & Doobies Coming to TWC
The original members of Bad Company , Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs and Simon Kirke, are reuniting for 10 exclusive concerts in the U.S., and Raleigh gets one of the dates. The concert will be at Time Warner Pavilion on June 23.
The Doobie Brothers will be the opening act. Their current lineup features original members Tom Johnston (guitar/vocals), Pat Simmons (guitars/vocals), John McFee (guitars), and Michael Hossack (drums).
Allman Brothers, Widespread Coming to Walnut Creek
Time Warner Music Pavilion welcomes the return of two of its most popular regular acts, together this time. On Sunday, October 11, The Allman Brothers will play with Widespread Panic opening. Tickets go on sale Friday morning at 9:00 am.
Little River Band To Play Ham & Yam
Smithfield’s Ham and Yam Festival has found another late 70’s great to headline their event this year, The Little River Band . The festival takes place on May 2-3.
Tonic Playing Downtown Live
On August 8, Tonic will be playing Downtown Live in Raleigh’s Moore Square. This is a heavily sponsored concert and is therefore, free.
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy To Headline Artsplosure
The band on hand to celebrate the opening of the RBC Center 10 years ago will be back to headline this year’s Artsplosure festival . Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will play on the main stage late Sunday afternoon of the May 16 and 17 festival.
Like previous years, this 30th edition of Artsplosure will include the art market, two music stages, Kidsplosure, large-scale art installations, and more. The weekend-long event is free to the public. The Art Market showcases the talent of more than 170 juried visual artists and crafters from across the country. Artwork by fine artists and crafters exhibiting in 11 different categories will be available for purchase, including painting, photography, pottery, jewelry and more.
The Main Stage and North Carolina Stage will be located in Moore Square. In addition to Big Bad VooDoo Daddy, the event will feature musical performances by Kellylee Evans, Buckwheat Zydeco , The Soul of John Black, Trombone Shorty, Tropic Orchestra, Jonathan Scales, and others to be announced at a later date. New this year, performances will run until 10:00PM on Saturday.
Kidsplosure provides activities and entertainment for children. In addition to the many arts and crafts available, the Kidsplosure Stage will provide live family-friendly entertainment.
Each year, the Spring Arts Festival attracts up to 80,000 people over the course of the weekend. The event is presented by Artsplosure, a nonprofit corporation that also produces First Night Raleigh.
Jackson, Chesney, Flatts, 311 All Billing TWC
Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion has lined up some solid acts for the upcoming summer. Some news shows have been recently added:
- 311 w/ Ziggy Marley – Sunday, July 5
- Rascal Flatts – Sunday, August 2
- Alan Jackson – Saturday, August 22
- Kenny Chesney w/ Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert – Sunday August 30
Loggins & Messina Coming to DPAC
On Thursday, September 24 Loggins & Messina will be in Durhams. Tickets are $37, $47, and $62 . The general public tickets go on sale today at 10am thru Ticketmaster.
U2 Coming to Carter-Finley
On October 3rd, U2’s tour will make a stop at Carter-Finley Stadium. No word on tickets yet (this time around, let’s buy enough that the show isn’t canceled!)
Mötley Crüe Coming to TWC
On August 23, Time-Warner-Cable-Music-Pavilion-at-Walnut-Creek-Formerly-Known-as-Alltel-Pavillion-at-Walnut-Creek-and-Hardee’s-Walnut-Creek-Amphitheatre welcomes Mötley Crüe . Tickets are on sale at 10am on March 20 . Presale begins March 17.
Tift Merritt Coming to Fletcher
Raleigh’s own Tift Merritt will be coming to the Fletcher Opera Theater in the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, May 1. Tickets are $22 and available thru Ticketmaster.
