Mixed-Use Project Proposed Near Crabtree
I ran across this sign yesterday and it looks like someone wants to build a large, mixed-use project high on the hill between I-440 and Crabtree at Glenwood.

Interesting. At least they picked a place that won’t flood constantly. Hehehe I hope it materializes.
I ran across a sign today at Triangle Town Boulevard and Old Wake Forest Road saying a Walmart was coming to that intersection. The sign was on the northeast corner.

Ari,
That sign has been there forever, at least a year and a half. The site fences which usually indicate the beginning of a construction project have been installed within the last month however!

My best wishes to the developers. In this economy, I am surprised anything gets built. I like that they say “15+ Story”
I hope it gets even taller, but anywhere between 10-15 stories wouldn’t make me feel bad.

These site plans have been around for several years. Obviously the economy has put all of these plans on hold.

Yes, they have, however to be clear, this sign is not referring to Crabtree Village or to the Weingarten project. The property in question here is on Arrow Drive, so it is the 4th large project proposed for the area skirting Crabtree.

They need to realize that Crabtree mall is almost resesson proof and that anything near it will be too. The mall is full almost all the time, and it really needs some outdoor shopping to compete with North Hills.
